Hello. My name is Willard Barth, and I want to welcome you to our new video series, “Self-Awareness 101?.

After having spent the past 20 years focusing on my own journey of self-awareness, leading seminars and doing one on one coaching I’ve decided to “pay it forward”. If you are not familiar with the term, it comes from a movie by the same name. In the movie Pay It Forward, a teacher asks his students to “Think of an idea to change our world – and put it into action.” In the movie a young boy puts into action an idea called “Pay It Forward”. The idea is about doing something to help others without asking for something in return for yourself. What he did ask, was that the person receiving the help then “pay it forward” by helping 3 others and asking them to do the same. If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend it.
This video series is a part of my attempt to Pay It Forward. Over the next several months, we’re going to be releasing short video messages designed to help you on your personal development journey, and on your journey to self-awareness. Now, some of these videos are going to be ideas and lessons that have been shared by some of the greatest teachers in the areas of psychology, spirituality, finance, relationships, personal transformation and health. Other videos are going to be skills and strategies that I have personally used to help me overcome challenges or create specific outcomes in my own life. Ultimately, the intention of this series is to open your mind to new possibilities, to give you ideas, skills and resources that you can apply in your own journey, and to give you a forum where if you choose, you can also pay it forward by sharing your experiences with others looking for direction.
Albert Einstein said that a problem cannot be solved with the same mind that created it. When you open your mind to new possibilities, anything becomes possible.
Right now people are asking all sorts of questions. From issues they are facing within their homes to a issues that affect people at a global level. People are trying to figure out what to do… about the economy, about the environment, within their relationships with one another and relationships with people around the world.
As people look for answers, one of the challenges that they will face is that they don’t realize that all change begins within. So many are looking elsewhere for the answers. One of my mentors, Wayne Dyer, recently released a book called, Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life. Such a simple statement, but so true.
Here is a personal example of how that concept worked for me. I lost my left leg to cancer when I was 8 years old. And the driving focus for a good 14 years was, “Why me?” Everything that I focused on was about me being a victim and losing my leg. I believed that I was being punished. I thought that I did something wrong. I had a belief that society was against me. And those thoughts, those beliefs drove every action and created my reality.
Then there came a point where I changed that focus from “Why me?” to “How can I use this experience, how can I use all of the things that losing my leg led me to learn, to serve others? How can I use these things to teach, to help other people avoid the outcomes and the mistakes that I made?”
Think about this for a minute: One idea can change your life. Let me say this again. One idea can change your life. Sometimes that change will be dramatic and instant, and other times it will be a small shift, that over time expands until you find yourself in a whole new place.
I want to be very clear. I am not sitting here saying that I’m going to be the person who’s giving you the idea that will dramatically change your life. The reason we’re setting up Self-Awareness 101, and this website the way that we are, is to offer you inspiration, education, empowerment. We intend to give you the spark, the idea that will get the ball rolling. You will then be able to communicate in an online community, sharing what specifically that skill, that strategy, that idea means to you, and how you’ve either applied it in the past in your life, or how you can see applying that skill now can make dramatic changes for you.
We know that some people who come to these videos and articles will be new to their journey of personal development and self-awareness. And that others will have invested years in studying different approaches that have given them tremendous benefits along the way. It is our intention to create a place where the new person can ask questions, and those who desire to, can share their experiences to help others along the way. Again, “One idea can change your life.”

strike a chord in you. Think about what
jumps off the page at you and follow it. It
might just be your true passion.

3. FORGET ABOUT THE MONEY.
If what you’re passionate about is out of your
price range, find ways to enjoy it. For instance, if
you love horse riding but can’t afford a horse,
find work at a stable. You’ll be surrounded by
your passion everyday. And that’s priceless.

4. WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE.
Did you love going to the park as a child, but
seldom spend time outdoors now? Maybe you
loved playing a sport, but you no longer play. If
you enjoyed something as a child, you might still
enjoy it as an adult. Give it a try.

5. IMAGINE YOUR PERFECT DAY.
Take a moment to think about what a perfect
day for you would include. Maybe it’s lounging
on the beach or spending an entire day in
your garden. Whatever it is, if it seems perfect
to you, then it’s probably something you’re
passionate about.

6. MAKE A PASSION BOARD.
Make a board out of poster board, a bulletin
board, or a digital page. Attach photos, drawings,
or words that make you happy. Then keep it
where you can see it every day to remind you to
take action toward your passion.

7. STOP AND THINK.
Take a quiet moment to sit down and really
think about what makes you happy. List
everything that comes to mind. Then look
over your list and find the one that makes
you the most happy. That’s your passion.

8. ASSESS YOUR FREE TIME.
While you’re relaxed and thinking about the
work you like best, also think about what you
like to do during your free time. Find one thing
that makes you happiest and pursue it!

9. ASK A FRIEND TO READ YOUR FACE.
Ask a friend to mention things you seem to enjoy. If
your face lights up, you smile, or you become
excited, chances are this is something you’re
passionate about.

10. GET OUT MORE.
Doing different things is the best way to find out
what you’re most passionate about. Get involved
in sports, join a local club, or just get out and go
for a hike. Keep trying new activities until your
passion reveals itself.

11. LISTEN TO THAT SMALL
VOICE INSIDE YOU.
Whether you call it a small voice, your gut, or
your intuition, listen to it. It’s what tells you
what you really love doing and will give you the
best idea about what your passion really is.

12. WHAT GIVES YOU
ENDLESS ENERGY?
Everyone has times when they feel as if they
could keep going forever and their energy has
no bounds. Chances are that if something
makes you feel like that, it’s because you love
doing it so much. It’s a passion!

13. TAKE A CLASS.
Whether you want to learn more about
computers, take a writing course, or try
your hand at art, taking a class will lead
you to things you may not have
considered doing before.

14. WHAT DO YOU FIND EASY?
People usually find it easy to do what they
love. Ask yourself what seems to come easily
to you. Chances are it’s something you’re not
only good at, but also passionate about.

15. DISCOVER YOUR CREATIVITY.
Be creative about taking small things in
your life that you enjoy and expanding on
them. Where do you channel your creative
energy? It’s likely related to your life’s
passion.

16. THINK ABOUT THINGS
YOU WOULD DO FREE.
Is there something in your life that you love
doing that you would do even if no one paid
you? Figuring out what you love to do so
much that you don’t feel the need for money
is a great way to tap into your true passion.

17. DO SOMETHING YOU LOVE
EVERY DAY.
The things you love are the things you’re most
passionate about. Even 15 minutes a day doing
something you really love will make you happier
and lead you to a more fulfilling life.

18. TALK TO PEOPLE WHO LOVE
THE SAME THINGS YOU DO.
If you love music, talk to musicians and fans.
If you love drawing or writing, talk to artists
and writers. By talking to these people you’ll
find what you love most and find more ways
to incorporate it into your life every day.

19. RESEARCH.
Research everything you can about your life’s
passion. This will not only help you become
more educated about it, but it will also help you
identify ways you can get out and enjoy it more.

20. VISUALIZE YOURSELF DOING IT.
Vividly imagine doing what you love and
eventually you’ll find yourself actually doing it.
When you imagine it enough, your mind finds
a way to make it possible.

21. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.
Just because you love doing something doesn’t
mean you’re going to be a pro at it the first time you
try. Practice doing the things you love most and you
will grow in skill. And if you’re truly passionate about
something, you’ll love practicing it.

22. IF YOU ONLY HAD ONE WISH,
WHAT WOULD IT BE?
If there was only one thing you could do or one thing
you could have, what would it be? This will steer you
on the right road to finding what will fulfill you the most.

23. MEDITATE.
Find some quiet time to do some deep
breathing exercises and really concentrate
on what you love doing. Look deep within
yourself, search for what you most love,
and you’ll find it.

24. TUNE OTHER PEOPLE OUT.
Ask for advice, yes, and listen to other’s opinions,
but remember that when it comes to your heart,
only you will know what’s best for you.

25. NEVER GIVE UP.
Finding your passion may not happen overnight. Keep
at it and remember that once you find it, the hard
work is truly over and then it’s time to just enjoy the
fulfillment you’ve sought and found.

The only way to live a truly fulfilling life is to find your passion. It doesn’t have to be hard, but it may entail some effort.

Searching out what makes you happiest and listening to
your heart will help you find your passion in life and lead
you to the life of your dreams. . . your karma.

In a recent survey carried out by Evolution Ezine, fear was the biggest factor holding people back from the success they desired.

Fear of success ...or failure, fear of rejection, fear of not being good enough... Fear is literally public enemy number one - physically, mentally and spiritually.

When fear begins infiltrating your body, you notice unmistakable

signs. These include tightening of your muscles, shortness of

breath, pounding heart, restlessness, and muscle weakness in the

A friend sent me a great story about an ultra-lightweight backpacker:

Chaz was carrying a super-small pack which weighed 14 pounds including food and water. When asked how he got his pack weight so low, Chaz would reply, "All you need to know my friend is that it’s possible."

That got me thinking. Somewhere in the world, someone is doing something that everyone else decided couldn't be done. Possibility is a game changer. Is it possible to be successful by taking the path less traveled? The successful marketer looks for possibities, those niche markets that are hidden in plain sight. . . the next Twitter or Facebook.

To be successful, be selective about what you put in your marketing backpack. Just one gem in that pack outweighs all those lead pipe cinches everyone else is touting.

Sometimes you just want to curl up in a fetal position, whimper quietly in the dark and wallow in failure. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.

I've made so many impulsive buying decisions, I make congress look frugal. The 'my documents' section of my computer is bursting with make a bazillion, guru endorsed, surefire, copy and paste, clone for success hype. Amazon would be jealous. Don't get me wrong, some of the information was useful . . . the parts I understood. Much of it required webmaster or autoresponder skills that would stop me cold in my tracks and induce one of my head banging rituals. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Did I hear a faint "amen"? Or was that "loser"? Either way, LUCK was launched.

Everyone knows the definition of insanity. That's when you continue to do the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome. The idea behind this blog is to share what has actually worked consistently for you to make money or improve your life. That covers a multitude of possible topics. Each submission will be reviewed before posting. Those with merit will be published here for all our LUCK subscribers to test out and post their feedback.
